There is huge potential for Automation Engineers, when it comes to placement. Automation is an inevitable part of every industry. With increased focus on Quality and Production Efficiency, all Manufacturers have to invest in Automation. As far as the Manufacturing Industry is concerned, placements are available in every Manufacturing setup, be it Automobiles, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, F&B, Textile, Biomedical equipment and so on. A large part of the recruitment is also done by the OEMs and the System Integrators. The same is true of Process Plants like Oil & Gas, Water Treatment, Breweries etc.
The term Automation is now not relevant only to Manufacturing & Process Plants. The Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, has launched the ‘Make in India’ initiative to place India on the world map as a manufacturing hub and give global recognition to the Indian economy. As a result of this, India’s manufacturing sector could touch US$ 1 trillion by 2025. Several mobile phone, luxury and automobile brands, among others, have set up or are looking to establish their manufacturing bases in the country. The focus of the Make in India programme is on 25 sectors, which means a much larger Opportunity Base.
Automation has emerged as an exciting career option for Engineers. The Automation Industry is growing at 6-8% globally whereas in countries like India & China, it is growing at more than 30%. The five year forecast shows healthy trends and the Industry will require more Engineers equipped with the right skills to join. The quality of our courses will definitely open up a plethora of opportunities for our students.
